GREENSLEEVES is a favorite carol for every congregation, and this arrangement uses the text that covers the birth and death of Christ. The piano opens with six bars of a familiar harmonic progression pattern, and the voices and instruments follow. The easily sung key is in d minor and modulates to e minor for the third and final stanza. Arpeggiated LH patterns and colorful and rich harmonies are utilized as the hymn develops, and the piece answers the question of “Who” this Child truly is, with the text’s conclusion as the answer: “the Son of God.” Includes a full score, a piano score, and all individual instrumental parts: Flute 1, 2 Clarinet in B-flat, Trumpet in B-flat, Horn in F, Trombone, Tuba, Violin, Viola, Cello, and Percussion: Timpani and Bells.
Real Responses from Congregations
The beautiful accompaniment and the unison congregation could be used both congregationally and chorally (as we did)… For small to medium-sized choirs on low attendance Sundays these could be effective choral pieces or as a way to develop choir and orchestra when (as is our case) some choir members are also instrumentalists. We used three pieces as part of our Easter celebration. All were very well received. We were able to include our developing orchestra with all of it. So, thank you!

Molly plays for the church my mother-in-law attends. The congregation becomes like a big choir with her arrangements. I’ve enjoyed the music when we’ve visited!
