This Getty hymn is well-loved because of its strength in text and tune, and this arrangement makes sure to feature both aspects. The piano introduction captures the Getty’s intended harmonic progressions, and progresses in the same vein as the stanzas develop. A repeat is offered as a duplicate setting for the first/second stanzas, so the instrumentalists may desire to tacet for the first stanza, and only come in for the second. A brief tacet is also written for the beginning of the third stanza, and then the instrumentalists crescendo into the middle and continue building into the key change and the fourth stanza as the final climax. Includes a full score, a piano score, and all individual instrumental parts: treble clef C instrument, treble clef B-flat instrument, horn, and bass clef instrument.

The beautiful accompaniment and the unison congregation could be used both congregationally and chorally (as we did)… For small to medium-sized choirs on low attendance Sundays these could be effective choral pieces or as a way to develop choir and orchestra when (as is our case) some choir members are also instrumentalists. We used three pieces as part of our Easter celebration. All were very well received. We were able to include our developing orchestra with all of it. So, thank you!
