This setting of the familiar text to the PLAINFIELD tune will be very easy and comforting to your church congregation. The piano opens with a 2-bar intro and voices enter with solo piano until m. 10 on the refrain where the instruments join in. A repeat is then offered for stanza 2, and a refreshing and uplifting key change is scored for the third stanza, where the treble clef instruments handle the first 10 bars, and the bass clef instruments join in for the refrain. Instruments double the piano for a beautiful key change into E-flat for the final (fourth) stanza, and the upper-range instruments play a lovely obbligato line above the melody. Includes a full score, a piano score, and all individual instrumental parts: treble clef C instrument, treble clef B-flat instrument, horn, and bass clef instrument.

The beautiful accompaniment and the unison congregation could be used both congregationally and chorally (as we did)… For small to medium-sized choirs on low attendance Sundays these could be effective choral pieces or as a way to develop choir and orchestra when (as is our case) some choir members are also instrumentalists.
